We help people in the Arlington, Texas, area when they are in an immediate crisis and then work with them to make lasting, positive changes in their lives.

Serving the Arlington, TX, Area Since 1979

The Wesley Mission Center opened in 1979 at First United Methodist Church - Mansfield. Several years later, the church moved to its current location, 777 N Walnut Creek Dr, Mansfield, TX 76063, at the corner of Pleasant Ridge Drive and Walnut Creek Drive. At that time, several members of the church joined to build “The Thrift Store,” an 1,800-square-foot dedicated building to house the resale shop and use those funds to help those in need.

Over the years The Thrift Store became The Wesley Mission Center. It built and expanded the building, and grew in volunteers, staff, revenue, programming, and community impact. In 2013, The Wesley Mission Center separated from the church and became an independent, non-profit community mission. Here is an overview of The Wesley Mission Center today:

  • Wesley Mission Center Thrift StoreA Thrift Store which funds operations and many programs so that every dollar donated can be used to help people in the Arlington and surrounding community.

  • More than 200 volunteers - some from Arlington - and a need for many more! (see How Can I Help)

  • Emergency Financial Assistance and Food Pantry to help those who are in crisis.

  • Interventions and programs to help people make lasting, positive changes in their lives. This includes Job Programs, Financial Education Programs, leadership development, individual case management, and much more.

Local Partners

We build partnerships with Arlington churches, organizations, businesses, and individuals who have a desire to help our neighbors. Through the support of local partners, The Wesley Mission Center provides financial assistance, resources, and customized action plans focusing on intervention and prevention methods that support a household’s success. We have found that there is a great need for job and life skills, resource management education, coping skills to effectively handle emergencies, and positive support systems.

Donations from residents in Arlington are essential to our ministry. Revenue generated through gently used household items, accessories, clothing, toys, furniture, and electronics helps the Thrift Store fund our operations and many of our programs. Food and hygiene items are always needed!
